چکیده
SECTION 1 A 46-year-old right-handed African American man presented to the emergency department after a 10minute episode of sudden-onset left-hand weakness and slurred speech. His medical history was significant for a left cerebellar stroke 6 years ago. That event occurred during a physical training exercise and was thought to be secondary to a vertebral artery dissection.1,2 He was placed on aspirin 81 mg daily. The patient had minimal residual deficits, with left face numbness and left hypoacusis. He did not smoke, drink, or use recreational drugs. There was no family history of stroke or vascular disease. On initial examination, the patient was normotensive. His mental status was intact, with a MiniMental State Examination (MMSE) score of 30/30. Figure 1 Initial imaging

Subclavian artery-esophageal fistula after placement of a self-expanding metal stent in a patient with esophagogastric anastomosis stenosis
Background: There have been reports on stent-related vascular erosions about patients with benign or malignant stenosis of the esophagus who received endoscopic stent insertion for palliative intention for oral intake. Case presentation: A 61-year-old woman with esophageal cancer located in the middle part of esophagus was treated with esophagectomy. Two years following the surgery, malignan...
متن کاملLEO stent monotherapy for the endovascular reconstruction of fusiform aneurysms of the middle cerebral artery.
We present the case of a patient with a fusiform aneurysm of the M1 segment of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) in which endovascular stent placement without coiling was performed. A 3.5-mm x 25-mm LEO self-expanding stent was deployed along the fusiform aneurysm of the horizontal MCA M1 segment. Digital subtraction angiography showed progressive thrombosis at 6 months and complete thrombosis o...
متن کاملUsage of Stent-Assisted Coiling Technique with Atlas Stent for Middle Cerebral Artery Aneurysm with Branch Originating from Aneurysm Sac
Treatment of bifurcation intracranial aneurysms is technically challenging. Sometimes it is necessary to pass a microcatheter through the aneurysm sac to navigate the microcatheter to a branch originating from the aneurysm sac. A 56-year-old male patient was treated for an incidental middle cerebral artery aneurysm. One branch originated from the medial part of the aneurysm sac, therefore stent...
متن کاملPreliminary results of endovascular stent-assisted angioplasty for symptomatic middle cerebral artery stenosis.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Stent placement for intracranial atherosclerosis has become an alternative treatment technique; however, stent placement for middle cerebral artery (MCA) stenosis remains a technical and clinical challenge. Our purpose was to assess the feasibility, safety, and effectiveness of stent placement for MCA stenosis. METHODS Between May 1998 and August 2003, we performed sten...
